St James' Festival
18-7-2009, 2:06 PM

At Welland we are celebrating St James a few days early, so as not to clash with the Steam Rally next weekend. On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July the church is full of a wonderful display of arts and crafts, most of which are for sale. There are also some flower arrangements on the theme of "Celebration", including one celebrating the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. If you want to go along, the Church is open  from 10.00am to 4.00pm both days. There are some pictures on my blog http://21stcenturypilgrim.blogspot.com There is also a Praise Service at 6.30pm on Sunday 19 July, followed by a Barbecue. Everyone welcome!

Since starting to write regularly on the blog again, I have put down thoughts on the G20 Summit, Palm Sunday, the use of Jesus's name, the Resurrection, and the recent Downing Street scandal about smear stories. If you'd like to read any of these, go to http://21stcenturypilgrim.blogspot.com
The vicar's blogging again!

A number of people followed my blog when I was away travelling around Europe last year, and I had intended to keep it up when I returned, but was overtaken by other events. I have now updated it, and the "Random Ramblings of a Village Vicar" will appear on http://21stcenturypilgrim.blogspot.com
Now with added tweets

Frances returned from her wanderings on 10 July, and has come back refreshed and full of ideas!

If you missed her traveller's tales, they are still available on the blog, and she hopes to post some more pictures in the next few days.

The Vicar will shortly be going off on a period of study leave, visiting cathedrals and other "pilgrimage" sites, old and new, sacred and secular.
